Paul Miller (a.k.a. DJ Spooky) as well as being an artist, DJ and producer, has collaborated with artists such as Chuck D, Dave Lombardo of Slayer and Yoko Ono. He is also the author of Rhythm Science and editor of Sound Unbound which are both published by MIT Press.

The conference will be held at Leeds Metropolitan University's Headingley Campus in north west Leeds, an environment that is appreciated by both students and staff for its vast spaces and relaxing atmosphere.

All of the conference activities will take place in the James Graham building (pictured). It is also home to the music, sound and performance courses' specialist studios, which offer impressive production, performance and recording facilities, including:

· Five recording studios, each with a control room and live area with instruments and amps

· 5.1 mixing facilities

· Five fully equipped programming / offline editing suites, each with its own booth

· Digital / analogue consoles, genelec / dynaudio monitors, a range of recording and editing software

· Protools HD 3 and HD2 systems

· Foley studio for recording sound effects and multi-speaker performance space of electro-acoustic and diffusion compositions
