Drexel University is positioned next to 30th Street Train Station. The conference venue, The URBN Center, is located at 3501 Market St and is a easy 5-block walk from 30th Street Train Station or a 1-block walk from the 34th Street Subway Station of the Market/Frankford Blue Line.
Arriving at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
SEPTA train to Center City leaves every 30 minutes from the airport. It is approximately a 17-minute ride. Fare is $6.50. Only cash is accepted on the train. So, exchange some money at the airport or purchase ticket before boarding the train from kiosk. The train continues to Center City stops after 30th Street Station. (See www.septa.org). Taxis are available from 30th Street Station to your hotel if you don’t feel like walking.
Arriving at Newark New Jersey Liberty Airport (EWR)
Amtrak train to 30th Street Station. It is approximately a 1-hour ride. Cost varies. (See www.amtrak.com). Even with the cost of the train ride, many may find more flight options if you include this airport in your search.
Coming from New York
Amtrak train from New York Penn Station (8 Av & W 31 St) to 30th Street Station. It is approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour ride. Cost varies. (See www.amtrak.com) This may be a useful option if you are attending the AES Convention in NY a week earlier.
Getting around Philadelphia
The conference venue and listed conference hotels are within easy walking distance to each other. Center City is roughly 20-30 minute walk to the venue. Center City Philadelphia is a very walkable downtown area.
There is bus, trackless trolley, subway, and trolley service available as well. Cash Fare is $2.25 per ride. Cash is accepted for travel on all of these services. Exact fare must be used.
A weekly SEPTA Transpass is available for $24.00, which is valid for unlimited rides on any bus, trolley, and subway within the city. The Market/Frankford Blue Line is an east/west subway system through the city, while the Broad Street Orange Line is a north/south system.
