Steve Albini will be the keynote speaker at the sixth Art of Record Production conference to be hosted by Justin Morey and Bob Davis at Leeds Metropolitan University on December 3rd – 5th 2010. Albini has recorded over a thousand albums with over a thousand bands, including The Pixies, Nirvana and P. J. Harvey and is well known for refusing to describe himself as a ‘record producer’. He is also renowned for his forthright opinions on the superiority of analogue recording technology, his preference for group recordings over overdubbing, his disdain for the major labels and his ethical stance on flat fee payments rather than ‘points’ for his recording work. The deadline for the receipt of abstracts for inclusion in the conference is Tues June 1st 2010.
